These intriguing diary entries are found in a manuscript housed in the British Library, MS Sloane 2222, dating back to the mid-17th century. The alchemist meticulously details his journey through an alchemical process, which I have transcribed into modern English. This transcription vividly illustrates how an alchemist of that era perceived and documented the progress within his glass vessel. The process spanned an entire year, with the majority of the activity occurring in the first six months. This diary offers valuable insights into the working methods of an alchemist during that period.
