Reproduced from a nineteenth-century print held in the A Lewis archives, this engraving first appeared as an illustration in Picart's 'Cérémonies et coutumes religieuses de tous les peuples du monde' (c.1735) and shows the meeting places of the early eighteenth-century Freemasons.
