Music by Robert Fludd CD

Music by Robert Fludd ( 1574- 1637)
A manuscript containing several pieces of music by well-known English composers of the early 17th century has survived in the Gilmore Music Library at Yale. It is catalogued as No. 3 in the Filmer collection. This manuscript includes works by William Lawes and John Jenkins, amongst others. Notably, it opens with 11 pieces composed by Robert Fludd. While one might initially assume that Fludd's compositions are merely tedious exercises in harmony, playing them reveals their true beauty. These pieces hold their own grace and stand alongside the works of more recognised composers in the manuscript.
